ABOUT ME

Experience

By background before becoming a yoga teacher and health and wellness advisor was in catering and sales! I have managed a 350 seater west-end mexican restaurant, been in a high pressured advertising sales executives role and worked for a pharmaceutical company selling antibiotics, NSAIDS and antivrials to GPs! The latter led me to become a self taught complementary therapy advocate.
In 2005 I founded a health and wellbeing centre www.the-self-centre.co.uk which I ran for 10 years.
Believe it or not, these are all experiences that have enabled me to perform well in my current role!

Skills

I will stand on my soap box and state that "anyone can do yoga" and "I can teach anyone to do yoga"
Currently I teach the following :
  • Complete Beginners
  • Ante natal
  • Post natal mum and baby
  • Vinyasa Flow
  • Hot Yoga
  • Primary, Middle and Senior School children
  • Workplace classes
  • Private 1:1 sessions for those with specific health challenges
  • Festival Yoga in a tent!
I have also taught with Age UK, WI and Deaf Society

Qualifications

I qualified with a Teaching Diploma from The British Wheel of Yoga in 2006 and have been teaching for over 12 years.
I have also completed plenty of CPD courses and worked with Ashtanga, Iyengar, Scaravelli and Vinyasa Flow teachers.
The Minded Institute ran by the wonderful Heather Mason also ran a course on Yoga for Pain Management which I completed a few years ago.
I do try and attend as many courses and training workshops as yoga is about constantly learning new things!
